The Biotect® Ultra is Doulton’s hero water filter. Tested and certified by NSF to NSF/ANSI Standards 42, 53 & 401 (in our Kingfisher Biotect® Ultra Inline Water Filter System) and NSF/ANSI/CAN 372, it is designed to fit into all Doulton under sink water filter systems and our tap-mounted countertop filter systems and is compatible with the KingfisherDoulton DUO and Doulton TRIO systems.

Using natural materials, this ceramic water filter, with an activated carbon core, enhances your water quality by reducing a range of common contaminants whilst retaining healthy minerals - leading to smoother, cleaner, fresher water in every drop.

The Biotect® Ultra reduces up to 99.99% of common contaminants, including the following in varying levels which can be viewed on our performance claims table here:

  • Microplastics
  • Chlorine and monochloramine
  • Bacteria and cysts
  • Insecticides and herbicides
  • Heavy metals such as lead, cadmium and mercury

If limescale is an issue in your water, the Biotect® Ultra SI filter may be a more fitting option, it offers the same protection against contaminants with additional limescale inhibition. The Biotect® Ultra SI filter is also compatible with all Doulton under sink and tap-mounted countertop systems.

How often should I replace the filter in my Doulton filter system?

We recommend replacing your filter every 6 months. If you notice a drop in water pressure or a change in taste, it may be time to replace the filter. You can try cleaning the filter first, following our guidelines if you notice any changes earlier than 6 months. How to clean a ceramic water filter (Youtube)

What systems is the Biotect Ultra Filter compatible with?

The Doulton Biotect Ultra filter is compatible with all Doulton under sink and tap-mounted countertop systems. They are designed for use with any system that has an M12 fitting. If you would like to use a Doulton filter in any other brand of system, please check with the manufacturer directly for compatibility.
